Yuteki Hayashi establishes Maruya Trading Company (predecessor of Maruzen Co., Ltd.) in Yokohama.
Maruya Trading Company opens the Osaka Branch with a bookstore and pharmacy in Sakai-suji Nishiiru, Minamikyuhoji-machi, Osaka. Isohachi Suga joins the Tokyo office.
The company is renamed Maruzen Trading Limited.
The company is renamed Maruzen Co., Ltd.
Maruzen Pharmacy Independence 1895
Maruzen Pharmacy is spun off as an independent company by resolution of the AGM of Maruzen Co., Ltd.
Saburo Yanagihara, the eldest son of Isohachi Suga, inherits the pharmacy business.
The company is restructured as Maruzen Pharmacy Co., Ltd. with 450,000 yen in capital.
